To ensure that principles and standards of operations with the Corporation are adhered by in both financial and non-financial aspects.
The Unit performs the following activities:
1. Review and report a proper control over the receipt, custody and utilization of all financial resources of corporation;
2. Review and report on proper control over receipts, custody and utilization of all financial resources;
3. Review and report on conformity with financial and operational procedures and laid down in different laws and regulations;
4. Review and report on the correct classification and allocation of revenue and expenditure accounts;
5. Review and report on the reliability and integrity of financial and operating data and other reports for the information of the Corporation and the general public as required by legislation;
6. Review and report on the appropriateness of the system used to safeguard assets and the verification of the existence of such assets;
7. Monitor and review operating procedures and controls;
8. Advise on the implementation of External Auditor's report;
9. Oversee preparation of internal audit reports;
10. Prepare and design audit systems;
11. Review policies on internal controls to ensure smooth implementation of the budget;
12. Supervise regular and special internal audits;
13. Facilitate External Audits
14. Develop audit procedures to facilitate compliance with international standard;
15. Review and report a system in place used to safeguard assets and verify existence of such assets;
16. Review and report an operations program to ascertain whether results are consistent with established objectives and goal;
17. Prepare and implement strategic Audit Plan; and
18. Control performance audit and appraisal of development projects.
